Meet your teacher! I’m Lindsay!

Hi there! I’m Lindsay Ramler, and I’m here to help you learn web development so it sticks with you (like glue but in a good way)! I started learning HTML and CSS in high school and absolutely fell in love with it! I currently work as a web developer for an online education company called Pathwright so I guess you can say I know some stuff. Simply put, I believe that anybody with determination and basic computer skills can build a website that will impress.

Topics we'll cover:

  • Common internet terms

  • HTML

  • CSS

  • Workflow

  • Wire-framing

  • Web design principles

  • CMS comparison

  • Bug squashing

  • Googling

  • Search Engine Optimization

Who this course IS for:

Any interested beginner to intermediate who are passionate about learning design and development. More specifically, those who want…

  • Motivation to actually learn web development

  • Full control of their design to stand out from the crowd

  • Confidence about their skills without spending hours wondering whether they’re ever going to be good enough

Who this course is NOT for:

  • Those who don’t want to put the time to learn skills that will improve their websites

  • Those who don’t have the desire to grow and expand their business

  • Those who would rather hire somebody that doesn’t understand their business like they do

  • Those who are simply ok with being mediocre

I know what you’re probably thinking…

Why do I need this course when I can just use google/youtube?

Speaking from experience, it’s easy to get in a rabbit’s hole when it comes to learning online. You run into the risk of missing vital information that would have saved you time in the long run. This course is designed to guide you through everything you need to know in an easy-to-understand format.

Plus, you’re learning from somebody who’s been in the business for several years and loves to share her knowledge with others so they can learn and grow too! You’re not in this journey alone.

I’m just not smart enough to code

The fact that you’re still reading this makes me believe that you CAN do this! Programming is just problem solving. There’s no single correct answer to anything. My job is to give you the different pieces to the puzzle so you can put together a website you can be proud of.

What it takes to succeed as a developer has a lot more to do with creativity, common sense, dedication, and hard work than it does with raw brain power

I can’t afford this course

The truth is, is that you can’t afford NOT to invest in this course. Think about it. If the average website costs between $2000 - $5000 (conservatively), then you’re saving yourself that amount by learning it yourself. You’re also putting yourself in a position where you can charge that much for a website in the future.

Why learn to code when I can just use a template CMS instead?

That’s an awesome question and one that we’ll cover in the course. Does the rise of CMS like Wordpress, Squarespace, etc. eliminate the web developer’s job? The short answer is that with the skills you learn in this course, you can step out of the platform’s constraints and personalize each website however you please. This is VERY valuable to stand out in a world where everybody has a website.
